The Orthopedic Urgent Care (OUCH) Clinic offers initial assessment, treatment, and referral for acute orthopedic injuries and conditions. It is important to note that an OUCH visit is not intended to replace a routine Orthopedic office visit. The evaluation and interventions provided in the urgent care setting are limited by the inherent constraints of the environment.
Conditions Treated in the Orthopedic Urgent Care:
Sports-related injuries (excluding concussions and back/spine/ribs)
Injuries to shoulders, hips, knees, feet/ankles, hands, wrists, and elbows
Strains, sprains, fractures, and dislocations
Conditions Requiring Additional Support:
Intractable pain and any displaced fractures should report to the Emergency Department
Any general medicine concerns must be addressed in a traditional Urgent Care setting
Pediatric orthopedic referral is recommended for patients below age 8
